This Thanksgiving I mourn the loss of stuffing. It’s my favorite part of the meal and honestly, I could eat it everyday for a month and still not cry out for turkey. This year, I get none of the buttery, crunchy toasted goodness. Well, I could, but it’ll hurt.

Quick Tip: Tomato Edition

A couple of weekends ago, we visited my sister-in-law and brother-in-law for a playdate with my nephew Mr. A. They have a million miles of land just north of metrowest Boston with wildflowers and a path down to the creek just out back, so I can pretend it’s the country. It also means they can do things I’ve been wanting to do for years, but may never have the time or the physical space to attempt. One of those things is a lovely little organic veggie garden. They grow corn, bell peppers, cucumbers, pickling cucumbers, jalapeño peppers, watermelon, beefsteak tomatoes, indigo rose hybrid tomatoes and Italian sweet peppers.

No need to send a search party, I know I’ve been MIA for a bit. I wish I could say I won the lottery and I’m checking in on society from my private island, but sadly, that is not the case. I finally managed to lift my head just above the oppressively pounding surf that surrounds that lovely island and not choke on the water, long enough to take a deep, live-saving breath. I have been in a FUNK friends and not the James Brown kind.
